iPods A Security Threat

This isn't a surprise, and it's not BS either.

Some time ago the US Government banned the little thumb drives from the workplace, and I'm not allowed to connect my iPAQ to any government computers for the exact same reason.

Once again, technology outpaces security.

1 Not at all surprising since an iPod is just as easily used as a data disc as it is an MP3 player. And you can configure it to do both. If you had a 40GB iPod with a few gigs of music you could download an awful lot of data and still walk out the door with music playing innocently on the headphones.

That said, it is important to note that the device itself, just like your iPAQ, is not a security risk. The risk is resident in the user.

iPods don't steal data. People steal data.
