It looks to me that he's there as a reporter, I'm not sure how that makes him a collaborator, or a sympathizer.

My complaint about him is that after the stupidity of visiting with Saddam before GWII, he's lost any credibility as an objective witness.
I'm sure he wrote (while listening to the "Death to America" chanting), "Wow, we Americans are evil! These guys really hate us."
