1 I disagree on Chicago. Agree on Forrest Gump, and Wizard of Oz. The rest? I don't think I've seen most of them.

2 Moonstruck, but just because I can't stand Cher, especially as an actress.

3 I've only seen half of those--of those I've seen, Fantasia is the most overrated. You can watch it once, but it's damn difficult to watch a second time.

4 Forrest Gump

5 Forrest Gump, there's no way it should have beaten Pulp Fiction for best movie.

6 I've seen all of them except Jules and Jim and The Rd Shoes - the one I'd pick is American Beauty, followed very closely by Field of Dreams.

I've never liked Kevin Kostner. He's a Klown, and ruined one of my favorite novels.

I can see people making an argument for 2001, though I still love it. The last 20 minutes certainly is overrated.

Gump got more hype than it deserved - perhaps more than any movie deserves - so I guess that's overrated, but on balance, I think it actually is a good movie.

A special honorable mention should be made for Titanic, which was way, way overrated but isn't on that list.

7 I'd say American Beauty and Nashville.

8 I don't think Gone with the Wind is overrated at all. Same with Good Will Hunting.

Gump is pure drek.

Clerks, a movie I really loved for years is probably overrated. I think the dialog was exceptional, as well as what they did with the whole thing on the non-existant budget, but the acting is terrible. Just terrible. A case could be made that Dante was fine, good even, but the chemistry was forced between him and Randy.

I'm no expert on animation, Maybe Fantasia was the greatest thing since sliced bread at the time, but I find it tedious and I enjoy that music.

Moonstruck? I thought I was missing something, maybe I'm not.

I liked American Beauty until the 3/4 point where it went from a great movie to a "let's see what else is on."

2001: I fell asleep. Literally.

I'd add Clockwork Orange to the list. The movie, not the book.

I'd also add Star Wars and all of it's incarnations. Sorry, I know it's not a popular view.

9 I disagree with Wizard of Oz and 2001 and Gone With The Wind. I liked American Beauty, too. More people should jerk off in the shower and get shot in the head by homos in movies. And that scene with the blond chick? Every middle-aged mans fantasy? Not a dry pair of shorts in the house.

Over-rated: Anything by Oliver Stone, ever, or Woody Allen in the last thirty years.
