Thai Food
Mookie adores it, so she found a place nearby that got rave reviews and treated me to dinner. She says the food there was really, really good.
I tried several things, but I discovered that I just don't like Thai food.

My one experience in a Thai Restaurant concluded badly, i.e., me nearly having to be sedated because the place was infested with flying roaches.
I'm with you, bro. Never again.

It's really quite different. Save yourself the curiosity and don't bother with vietnamese. I generally describe it to people as the next stop on the straight line from japanese through thai.
I love 'em both. Chicken Red Curry, all manner of strong but strangely light sauces... s'making me hungrified.

The only thing I like in Thai food's entire db is "Pad Thai." Did you try that?

Based on review recommendations and Mookie's preferences, we started with a curry-ish chicken and mushroom soup with coconut milk.
We also ordered pineapple fried rice (which I liked) and pad lard nar (I think it was called) which was chicken and noodles in a brown gravy.
I tried Mookie's iced Thai Tea too. Like everything else except for the rice, it tasted horrible to me.
I'm the same way about cajun. I want to love it, I've tried to love it, but I just do not like the spice combinations and flavors.
