Rules for Technology

"There's a set of rules that anything that was in the world when you were born is normal and natural. I saw this in The Salmon of Doubt (recommended by fellow Munuvian Daniel too), and found on the net at the lovingly constructed farewell page by the UCLA Astrobiology Society (which is entirely apropos when you think about it).
