Fay Wray

Passed on peacefully at age 96. She made over 100 movies in her career, but was most famous for her role in King Kong, where the mighty ape carried her to the top of the Empire State Building in New York City.

In tribute, the lights on the spire of the Empire State Building will be dimmed tonight.

1 "Whatever happened to Fay Wray?
That delicate, satin-draped frame.
As it clung to her thigh
oh, how I started to cry
'cause I wanted to be dressed just the same."

Okay, so I didn't want to dress like her, but she was beautiful.
I remember seeing her -- in an early scene of King Kong -- where she was posing for the photographer on the ship in her clinging satin, obviously bra-less, dress.
For us near-adolescent fans of horror movies, she was our first glimpse of just why we found girls so, er... differant!

As for her acting skills: I've seen her in several other old flicks, over the years, and she could scream just as well in all of 'em!!!
