1 I can't decide if that's really profound or really stupid ;~)

2 What is fanfic?

3 Short for "Fan Fiction". It's where people write new stories involving their favorite characters from a given story. For instance: Harry Potter short stories, Desperate Housewives porn, alternate universes based on mythology, what-if's, etc.

Wikipedia has a pretty good explanation.

Mookie's been writing fanfic based on the Broadway play "Rent". To quote her: "I don't hate these characters, I just love putting them through hell."

4 Interesting. The four gospels as fanfic. I'm leaning towards profound.

Not so much slash fanfic, though.

5 Oh!O.K. I see what you mean. Sort of like Luftwaffe 1946.The bible thing is kinda suprising though.I would love to see the age demographic of the writers.

6 I'm watching "Team America" and I'm curious--do all the character's in her "Rent" spoofs have AIDS?

7 I haven't read any of it, but I assume that if it would matter in the story then she would mention it. Sometimes it's "alternate universe" type stuff (what if so-and-so didn't die from AIDS?), but I think the emphasis is on working within the framework of the characters as originally conceived. Rachael was telling me that on the forum she posts to there is plenty of feedback and critiquing going on. Sounds like a good chance for her to improve her spelli... er, writing.
